WILDFIRE IN THE MOUNTAINS

Thanks to the firefighters we were able to endure another near disaster without any loss of property or lives. The state is dry and that is always a problem. This fire was started by a lightning strike. We were anxious but our fire was a measly 230 acres. During that same time the Silver Creek fire near Kremmeling Colorado increased in size to 11,000 acres with over 200 families under mandatory evacuations. That fire is still not contained. From each event we learn more. One lesson this time is that communications are not as good as possible. LPCA will be working with Larimer County to enhance and define how to get the best information quickly. Hopefully this will be something we won't need for a while, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared.

October, tuck tiny candy bars in my pockets and carve my smile into a thousand pumpkins.... Merry October!

My heart is broken because some bad things have been happening in Poudre Park. Gasoline being stolen out of cars. Also vandals ruining decoration lights in their yards. Let's be good neighbors and good watch dogs. If you have a problem with a neighbor get together and talk it out. Let's be good neighbors and watch out for anything unusual going on in your yard or your neighbors yards. Let's work together to make our neighborhood the best that it can be.

IT'S FOOTBALL SEASON
