Job Purpose

1. To create and execute the strategic marketing and communications plan for EMD UK

2. To increase instructor reach and engagement 3. To increase brand reputation and influence.

Digital strategy objectives: ? to increase the number of engaged instructors within our reach ? to increase our reach to group exercise instructors.

Number of engaged instructors on our databases. Number of instructors on our databases with consents. Recognition of EMD UK brands among instructors and stakeholders.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

? To create and execute the annual marketing and communications plan for EMD UK with the specific goals of increasing reach, engagement, brand reputation and influence of existing and new segments of the instructor market

? To monitor the effectiveness of marketing and communications activity in terms of the digital strategy (using digital analytics) and business improvement goals, and amend tactics accordingly

? To manage and monitor the stakeholder engagement plan, ensuring that all key relationships are assigned and managed in accordance with the plan, owning relative relationships within the plan.

? Working closely with the Insight & Digital team, to ensure learning from insight drives marketing and communications activities

? To provide marketing support to EMD UK founder partners inline with the agreements in place

? To be a member of the Senior Management Team, providing expert advice on marketing and communications and managing identified projects

? To regularly review suppliers of marketing and communications services, ensuring quality and value for money

? To lead, develop and maintain national media relations

? To be responsible for lead generation activities to support the commercial needs of the business

? To sign-off press releases, articles and blogs as required

? To oversee the ongoing development of the main EMD UK website ensuring a positive customer experience and so that it maximises the reach and engagement for EMD UK.

? To manage the EMD UK brand and any associated rebranding

? To stay abreast of progress and direction in the fitness, leisure, physical activity and marketing sectors to ensure EMD UK is well informed and capitalises on all opportunities

? To manage relevant staff to ensure KPIs and objectives are met

? To be the direct line manager for the relevant staff including: o Training & development o Holiday / sickness reporting o Regular one to one support o Appraisal process

? To oversee the accurate and timely collection of data and its input into reporting systems

? To manage and utilise effectively the relevant budgets and produce financial reports

? To attend appropriate meetings and events on behalf of EMD UK

? To assist the Chief Executive Officer as required

? Any other relevant task commensurate with the level of the role and as requested by the Chief Executive.

Qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills & attributes needed for the role

Essential

Educated to degree level in a relevant subject

Educated to at least Level 3 (A Level or equivalent)

A minimum of 3 years' experience of working at a management

level in Marketing or Communications

Experience of developing and implementing marketing and

communications strategies

Experience of working for a national governing body or similar

organisation

Experience of managing staff and understanding how to get the

best out of team members

Experience of project / programme and budget management

Experience of managing professional stakeholder and supplier

relationships at a strategic level

Experience of working at a senior management level in a

marketing/comms environment

Understanding of Sport England's current strategy and priorities

Understanding of the fitness, leisure and physical activity sectors and the key partners in each sector

Understanding of marketing and communications principles and

practice

Understanding of digital marketing and analytics

Excellent copywriting and proof reading skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent organisational and time management skills

Ability to meet targets, deadlines and work under pressure

Ability to lead and work as part of a team

Ability to be flexible, adaptable and follow procedure

Ability to make decisions and use initiative

Ability and willingness to travel throughout the UK and to work

evenings and weekends as required

Competent in the use of basic IT systems, website admin & social

media
