Job DescriptionJob title: Head of Marketing & CommunicationsDepartment: MarketingLine management responsibilities: Marketing Executive(s)Reports to: Chief Executive Officer Pay and benefits: from ?35,000 (to ?40,000), pensionPrincipal purpose of roleTo develop and implement marketing campaigns to promote the activities of St Aubyn Estates including planning, advertising, public relations, event organisation, sponsorship and research.The main focus is on St Michael’s Mount (50%), Godolphin Arms (30%), St Aubyn Estates Holidays (10%) and corporate (10%).Area of responsibility/tasksStrategic Direction & Policy:Work with CEO to determine the marketing strategy for the organisation;Create and implement annual marketing plans to support growth;Contribute to formulation of policy and strategy as a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).Print Marketing:Design, produce and distribute printed visitor and guest information;Co-ordinate all promotional, advertising, signage, posters and listings information.Digital Marketing:Develop digital marketing as the primary marketing medium to increase promotion and build profile;Explore and implement innovative digital channels to develop advertising, market segmentation and penetration;Maintain and update all websites, including National Trust, maintaining design and content integrity and relevance.Brand Management:Protect and enhance the brand across all platforms, ensuring quality and standards of excellence are key focus;Ensure that all printed and transmitted material conforms to house style and that our strategic objectives are communicated throughout;Ensure that all partnerships and associations respect the brand;Generate revenue for St Aubyn Estates as a location for film, photography and televisionPlan and implement processes to increase group sales, work with Groups Co-ordinator to manage processes, customer relationships and implement key account strategy;Monitor current national and international industry awards across the spectrum of St Aubyn Estates’ activities and to ensure involvement where appropriateRespond to, or initiate, sponsorship requests and opportunities.Internal Communications:Plan and manage internal communications ensuring awareness of corporate direction, philosophy, aims and activities;Produce regular internal newsletter;Develop intranet/digital communications.Press Relations:Foster and develop strong relations with all aspects of media, including digital and specialists for tourism;Maximise coverage for St Aubyn Estates locally, nationally and internationally through editorial and advertising;Develop relationships and manage outsourced PR activities. Events:Work with key business units to identify, develop, organise and manage events;Attend networking, cultural and development events to showcase St Aubyn Estates as a cultural destination and to gather market data.CRM:Monitor, analyse and determine customer behaviour in relation to all enterprises;Identify and use appropriate segmentation techniques to target communications and improve marketing;Develop and maintain CRM databases;Lead campaign monitoring, analysis and reporting;Maintain administration and relevant reporting and planning systems.Research:Initiate, implement and report relevant research into markets, trends and changes.CSR:Work with CEO to develop a CSR strategy, plan and implement an agreed communications policy.Customer serviceProvide a great service to all our external and internal customers.Be smart, polite and helpful at all times.Health and safetyFollow safe working practices.Be aware of emergency and first aid procedures.Be vigilant for hazards and report them.Attend all necessary training courses.Vision and valuesUnderstand and demonstrate the behaviours that underpin our values.Be aware of the role of you and your team in achieving our vision and objectives.Financial ManagementPrepare and monitor the departmental budgets;Control and manage expenditure by efficient use of resources.OtherManagement of Staff (1/2 direct reports):Create a work environment which fosters individual commitment, enthusiasm and confidence;Utilise and deploy personnel to optimise resources and enable continuing development of individuals;Encourage teamwork and collaborative action whilst emphasising individual responsibility and accountability. ................
